HOW TO GIVE UP EFFORT BUT STILL MAKE SHIT HAPPEN

Pigtails - DIssh -2In this fast-paced, technologically advanced world that we currently find ourselves in, it’s widely accepted that WEALTH, ABUNDANCE and FREEDOM are the direct result of hard fucking work.

We’ve been conditioned to believe that the only way to experience the things we really want is to effort, effort, effort. So we “slog it out” at the gym for that body, work crazy hours for that promotion and draft every possible communication with a potential lover so as to have them fall for us.  We have achievement and effort so inextricably linked that we believe there is no other option but to commit every ounce of our time and effort into that thing we so very badly desire even if it endangers our overall happiness.

In fact, its readily ACCEPTED that in order to “get ahead’ and experience all that we desire, a certain amount of joy MUST be sacrificed. 

And for years I bought into this. For years, I spent hours and hours and hours stuck in my stuffy little room rote learning definitions, researching like a mad woman, and perfecting each and every tiny sentence of every essay into the early hours of the morning. All because I was led to believe the more EFFORT I put in the MORE reward I would get out.

But I’m here writing these words to call BULLSHIT on this belief.

I’m here to yell from the rooftops …

 “EFFORT DOES NOT EQUAL REWARD.”

 IT’S NOT IN THE EFFORT BUT THE ENERGY

You are a vibrational being existing in a vibrational Universe.

In every single moment you exude a particular vibrational frequency out into the world. which is determined by the thoughts you think. Your external environment (A.K.A. Your life experience) is simply a direct reflection of this frequency.

Therefore, contrary to what you may currently believe, the amount of effort you put in is not the primary determinant of what you get out (Read: Effort does not equal achievement!). Alternatively, it is the frequency that you choose to vibrate at which holds the most power in determining what flows your way.

No matter how much EFFORT you exert to make a certain set of circumstances come into fruition – if you aren’t working to change your vibration… they will NEVER come into your experience. (No exceptions!).

Important Note: That’s why, for example, when you decide you want more money in your life and start “effort-ing” to make it happen (eg. working more hours, selling all your belongings, awkwardly chasing up every single person that has ever owed you money)  your bank account doesn’t seem to budge. Or even worse, you plummet deeper into debt. This is because by focusing on the lack of money you are currently experiencing you are embodying a vibration of lack (Thoughts create your vibration!). And because your reality is simply a reflection of your vibration – you are being kept in an experience where only a lack of money exists.

HOW TO GIVE UP EFFORT BUT STILL MAKE SHIT HAPPEN

So if you’re still with me and coming around to the notion that working your arse off isn’t going to get you what you want – I’m sure you’re keen to know what will! So here are 3 steps to turning your desires into your reality without effort. 

1. Focus on what you desire NOT what is

In order to experience what you want you have to embody the vibration of what you want. This simply means you must act as if it has already occurred. So…

If it’s more money you desire – think, move, breath and act as a rich person would.

If it’s a slimmer figure you want – think, move, breath and act as a slim person would.

If it’s a beautiful bunch of uplifting, supportive, energising women you are seeking in your life – think, move, breath and act as if they were already surrounding you.

2. Focus on your FEELINGS

You have an inner guidance system within you which acts as your own little NavMan. By providing you with feedback via your feelings, this inner guidance system lets you know whether or not you are heading in the direction you want to go.

When you FEEL GOOD this is your inner guidance system letting you know that you are currently vibrating at a frequency which is magnetising what you desire towards you.

When you FEEL ICKY, EXHAUSTED, PUSHY,  STRIVING, [insert any feeling that doesn’t “feel good”], this is your inner guidance system warning you that if you continue to vibrate at your current frequency you will soon attract situations to match.

So start to listen to this inner NavMan of yours and choose to redirect your thoughts (and therefore your vibration) whenever you catch yourself feeling anything but aligned.

3. Receive then Act

You are Source energy having a human experience, at your core you are of infinite intelligence, possibilities and potential. Given that your natural state is one of JOY, when you choose to vibrate at this frequency (A.K.A. when you choose to feel good!) you are connecting to this inner Source energy and allowing its all-knowingness to spring forth.

Your job is not to come up with ideas, solutions and innovations to any of your problems. Your job is to simply connect with the Source within you and RECEIVE the ideas, solutions and innovation it has already created. All action should therefore be INSPIRED – a direct result of your connection with Source.

There is never any need for your to EFFORT something into reality (whether that be a blog post, a boyfriend, a job, an assignment, a text message). All you have to do is prioritise your JOY – for it is at this vibration that all your answers exist.

Yeah! Well be sure to remember…

  • Reaching your goals isn’t meant to FEEL HARD. In fact it’s meant to be easy, effortless and most importantly FUN!
  • The only way to experience something you desire is to match it’s vibration (a.k.a. Pretend it’s already happened!).

    LOVE this Meg. At it’s core it’s just like asking yourself “what would Beyonce do?”, except that Beyonce is ‘abundant/healthy/happy/inspired me’ etc. So “How would I think and behave if I already was abundant?” Ah it’s so simple! You have such a talent for getting to the crux of things x

The opportunities, clients, and money always come when I’m regularly meditating, practicing self love, and surrounding myself with inspiration and not too focused on growing my biz and making moolah.     Thank you Meg! This prompted me to journal my a-ha moment – and explore how I would think, feel, breathe and act as a wealthy, fit, artist. Amazing insightss, thanks to your words! It’s so good to change perspective and realise that attacking my body and my self for not making more art, for not walking or looking after my health or finances is SO counterproductive. High time for me to switch focus to inhabiting that new conciousness of living life as a wealthy, fit, artist. Hello daily movement and daily art practise. Hello making space for a mini studio in my home. Hello walking in the park with my head held high and congratulating myself on my achievements (instead of feeling so ashamed of being in my obese body that I stay home). There’s such a HUGE difference between feeling abundance and feeling lack or restriction in my body. :) Amazing stuff!!!
