How to make 2015 your Best Year Yet

On the first of January every year, despite possibly nursing a major hangover, tired eyes and some sore dancing feet, we usually feel great! A fresh new year lies before us – a clean slate. We’re at peace with the year that was and ready to take on the year ahead. We’re fuelled by a whole heap of newly formulated goals and desires. We’re feeling inspired, alive…

Ready to shine. 

Then usually about now ( 2 to 3 weeks into the new year), this freshness seems to dissipate. Those big, bold goals which had us on the seat of our pants with inspiration only moments ago, no longer seem to be driving us forward. In fact, they’re actually making us feel uncomfrtalbe… inadequate.

We haven’t hit up the gym everyday like we promised.

We’ve already fallen off the bandwagon with that new diet that we were convinced would be a piece of cake (without the cake, of course!).

And although we swore to bury all memories of that guy (Yep, you know! That one that’s no good for you!) in the year that’s just gone by, we seem to have somehow returned to Facebook stalking him upon rising every morning and before nodding off to sleep at night (and possibly every moment in between!).

FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. 

Honey, quit your cussing. Although you might feel like it’s time to write the year off already, don’t be so sure!  Today’s video will help you make sure 2015 is your best year yet.

  2. I love that you said to get rid of the goals and focus on the feeling Meg! I literally just wrote a post on why I don’t have any goals for 2015.

    A few weeks ago I was going through Danielle La Porte’s Desire Map and I got to the section where you use your Core Desired Feelings to reverse engineer the goal setting and I realised that I actually didn’t want to set any goals.

    It seemed to almost contradict the whole purpose of setting my CDF’s for me. Being a massive perfectionist I know that I get super fixated on my goals and I have never experienced the kind of fulfilment that I’m after in achieving my goals. Often it leaves me feeling even more empty than when I started.

    So I’m with you sister. I said fuck off to the goals this year too. Great vid x x

    • Nicola! I am exactly the same when it comes to goals. All they do is make me feel anxious and bring out the crazy “must -achieve- at-all-costs” in me.

    2015 has been an amazing year for me so far, probably because I have been devoted to doing things that make me feel the want I want to feel (my core desire of feelings are: connection, ease, generosity, joy and gratitude).
